Visit us at Booth A1, Art Moments Jakarta. For this edition of Art Moments, Art Agenda and Art:1 present modern abstraction from Jakarta and Jogjakarta.
Over time, Jakarta became a dynamic meeting pointwhere Bandung-based artists practising abstraction could encounter artists from Yogyakarta, and beyond. While debates over national and artistic identity persisted, these discussions did not stifle the creative drive, artists continued to pursue their visions with conviction. Inspiration gave rise to expression; expression transitioned into reflection. This marked the emergence of Indonesian abstraction, which also began to take shape in the works of artists in Yogyakarta and Jakarta.
